How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

Web browsing and accessing the internet has become a major part of our daily lives. Many people today are looking for a way to access blocked sites. The internet is filled with sites that have been blocked and with the recent upsurge in cybercrime, more and more sites are being blocked by governments, schools, ISPs, employers, or for any other reason. The most common reason for blocking a site is to stop access to material that is considered obscene or objectionable. This can be pornography, racist material, or material that is illegal in the country.

At one point or another, everyone has been frustrated by a website that is blocked. It can be a website that you need for work or a site that you want to visit just for fun. With the help of this article, you can bypass the blocks that are stopping you from visiting the site.

So in this article, I'm going to share different ways to unblock websites that wouldn't need your money. Here are some tips and tricks to open blocked websites to unblock banned webpages on the internet for free and it includes a free VPN service as well.

How can I access blocked sites without VPN?

You can access blocked sites without a VPN by changing the DNS server, using cached websites, RSS Feed, internet proxies, and using Google Translate.

11 ways to access blocked sites without a VPN

#1. Use the RSS Feed of the website

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

RSS feed is a free and easy way to access blocked sites. With a little time and effort, you can get around restrictions and access sites from anywhere.

How to use an RSS feed to access blocked sites?

The first step is to find an RSS feed that you want to use. Once you have found a feed, copy the URL and paste it into the RSS feed reader of your choice. You can use an RSS feed reader like Feedly, NewsBlur, or Feedreader Online. In this case, you would paste the URL of the RSS feed into the reader of your choice. Once you have done this, you will be able to see all of the content from the feed.

#2. Use the website's mobile version

Most websites, like YouTube and Facebook, offer a mobile option as an alternative that you can use to visit the website by typing  "m." between the "www.'' in the website's address section and the website name. Many blocking services do not implement blocking on the mobile version.

For example, you can access the mobile version of the Facebook website by going to "https://www.m.facebook.com/" in your browser.

#3. Use the website's IP Rather Than URL

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

An IP address is a raw numeric address on most major computing platforms, by entering the same IP address into your browser's URL bar as you would for a normal address. eg ("https://www.google.com/").
This method doesn't work for all websites because these services hide their IP addresses or use multiple IP addresses which are not always reliable.

If you can't access to command prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac) program on a computer that has site restrictions/blocks, you can use a personal computer on an unrestricted network to find the IP address of that site, and after that use that addresses on the restricted computer.

How to get a website's IP address

Mac - Open Network Utility > click on Traceroute option and enter the website address
Windows - Type tracert websitename.com in the command prompt
Linux - Type dig websitename.com in Terminal
iPhone & Android -  On App Store & Play Store find apps with the name Traceroute

#4. Custom DNS

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

Another effective way to open blocked websites is by using custom DNS. Because most of the time when your ISP blocks a website, it blocks by blacklisting the site on its DNS server. So, maybe using a custom DNS might be of some help. Now to access those blocked websites I am suggesting a service called Cloudflare DNS.

It's also free and it uses a really simple DNS server address that is 1.1.1.1.
Cloudflare's DNS app can also help you bypass restrictions on any website for free. Cloudflare is not a traditional VPN app but it uses VPN technology to encrypt your data so using this app. You can't hide your true location but still, you can access blocked websites on your android device.

All you need to do after installing the app just turn the toggle on to connect your android device to Cloudflare DNS and the app will take care of everything, you don't need to deal with any settings or any complex stuff.

The reason why I am Telling about CloudFlare is because of its apps for Android and iOS.

Cloudflare encrypts your DNS queries so that your ISP can't see them and also there are high chances that you'll be able to access most of the sites that are blocked by your ISP. On the iPhone also the app works pretty much the same.

#5. Internet proxies

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

If you need to get past a blocked website, the best thing to do is to use a proxy. A proxy is a server that is in between your computer and the rest of the internet. It takes your request and forwards it to the site you want to visit.

How proxy can be used to open block websites?

1. You can use browser-based proxies that don't require any installation or any setup. For example, you can simply go to the Smartproxy website and type in the URL of the site you want to open.

2. You can know the IP address and the port number of the proxy server and then you can manually configure the proxy on your Windows 10 PC. The option is right there on the network and internet page in the Settings app. So, just type in the details and click on save.

However, the difference here is that now all the apps on your PC can connect to that proxy server instead of just your web browser.

On Android, you can configure the proxy on the Wi-Fi page

1. Click on the name of your Wi-Fi then tap on modify
2. Here you can enter the details after tapping on the manual button under The proxy option. Now you can use the internet without worrying about any blocked website.

You can try out some well-known internet proxies like -

But don't expect that a single proxy will work for all of them. One thing that I want to tell you that you might already know is that proxy connections are mostly not encrypted. So, my advice to you is that you should use them browsing YouTube or other tasks.

#6. Cached Websites

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

We can use the Internet 24/7. It could be any time that websites could go down and mostly it happens due to some technical error. That's why search engines like Google and Bing keep cache versions of websites so that you can access them if you need to. So if the website that you are trying to access has been blocked recently then there are quite high chances that its freshly cached version will be there.

You can search for the site or Google then click on the website's arrow and access the cached version. Your experience won't be degraded much every website mostly contains articles and blog posts. On your Android and iPhone, that arrow is not there so you'll have to type this (cache: https://www.example.com) command in the Google search bar to access the cached version.

#7. Google translate

How to Access Blocked Sites Easily for Free

This is yet another cool trick that you can use which has been very popular for years. You can use Google Translate as a workaround. If some website is blocked on your internet and that's because Google Translate is apparently not blogged in many places. So, just copy the URL of the website you want to access and then paste it on Google Translate.

You can pick any language even if you don't know it and click on translate. After the process is done, you can click on the original to get the original version of the site. This Google Translate thing might be cool but it has some downsides like sometimes the content of the page does not load properly.

#8. Access the archive page using the Internet Archive
